Self Care Gift Basket Ideas for Everyone on Your List
2020. What a YEAR, am I right? If there’s one gift that everyone probably needs more than anything this year, it’s some good ol’ fashioned SELF CARE. And while I am talking about the ‘lay in a bubble bath, put on a face mask, drink a glass of wine and watch Sex and The City re-runs’ brand of self-care – which is ALWAYS a good move, I think we all deserve to take time for ourselves and do something that makes us feel relaxed and at peace. What’s your favorite way to practice self-care?
So after this year that felt more like a century, what better idea than to gift your loved ones with a self care gift basket? In this post, I’ve put together multiple different self care gift ideas for different types of people on your list. These are just my suggestions as to what can go in each basket, obviously, you can change them as you see fit.
Oh BTW, have you checked out my holiday gift guides? I’m going to be adding to them throughout the month of December, so make sure you take a look at them if you’re looking for some gift ideas! Let me know if you have any specific gift guide requests! I love finding the perfect gift and I’d be happy to help you do the same for anyone on your list.
What to Put in a Self Care Basket
Self Care Gift Basket For Mom
Ok, if anyone deserves a self care basket full of relaxing goodies it’s MOMS. IDK about you, but my mom does SO much for me and she seriously deserves a little TLC. She always picks up my calls and listens to me complain about everything without judgment – she really is the best. Show your mom you appreciate her by putting together a gift basket full of items to help her relax.
A Soft Blanket
You really can’t go wrong with a super soft and cozy blanket for her to keep on the couch or on her bed. I recently picked up this chenille throw from Target and it’s SO soft – perfect for snuggling up and reading a good book.
You could also go with a cult favorite Barefoot Dreams blanket – a little more expensive, but so worth it.
Face Mask
Since facials aren’t really an option right now, treat your mom to an anti-aging, plumping face mask like the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve rescue mask. I’m sure she’ll appreciate it – and you can do a face mask with her! Spa day, anyone?
Foot Spa
I don’t know about you, but my mom always complains about her feet hurting. Make her day and treat her to a foot spa or a gift certificate for a foot massage! This foot spa from Conair is only $26, has prime shipping, and it vibrates to give a foot massage. It’s so affordable you should get one for yourself, too.
Cozy Slippers
These fluffy slippers from Amazon are so soft and breathable and come in multiple colors. I have a pair and I never take them off – they’re the perfect work from home slipper.
Pillow Spray
The Deep Sleep Pillow Spray by this works smells so good and actually helps me sleep better (maybe it’s a placebo… but I swear I have an easier time falling asleep and relaxing with this stuff!) The smell lasts for a while too, I’ve smelled it on my pillow/bedding a few days after spraying it. Your mom will appreciate its aromatherapetic affect.
Stylish Robe
Top off the basket with a super stylish robe from Mason Grey – I mean, how cute is this one thats white with stars? They are a little pricy though, so if you’re trying to stay on a budget this mixed print robe from Urban Outfitters is pretty cute too!
Self Care Gift Basket for Workaholics
Do you know someone in your life whose entire life revolves around work? Encourage them to set healthy boundaries and help appreciate other things in their life besides work with a gift basket full of de-stressors.
Gift certificate for a massage
This is a must – especially if they’ve been working from home, sitting cramped at a desk all day for the majority of this year. If it’s safe to do so, get them a certificate for a massage from their favorite local spa. Otherwise, you could offer to give them a massage yourself – at no cost to you.
Gratitude Journal
If this year has taught me anything, it’s the importance of appreciating what you do have. The Five Minute Journal has daily prompts for the user to fill out about things they are grateful for in their life amongst other things. Many say it helps them be a happier person overall and stress less – two things we could all use!
The gift of restful sleep
These Stressballs Gummies are a lifesaver. I started using the snooze version this summer and I swear an hour after taking these it’s lights out for me. They’re all natural and formulated with ashwaganda, melantonin and a herbal blend to help you sleep. I get the best sleep when taking these before bed.
Desk chair cushion
If they’re going to work all day, they might as well have somewhere comfy to do it, right? This desk chair cushion is made of 100% memory foam and has an ergonomic design. If they complain about back pain, this will probably change their life, and they will love you for it.
Desktop essential oil diffuser
I recently added this mini essential oil diffuser to my desk and it’s really helped uplift my mood while working from home. I use this set of essential oils – I like to mix the peppermint and eucalyptus oils to make my brain focus better.
Self Care Gift Basket for Wellness Lovers
People who are into personal wellness probably also practice a generous amount of self-care, but you could put together a gift basket with some tools to help them advance.
Acupressure Mat
I know, I know, this looks like a medieval torture device. I promise you it’s not. I got this Acupressure mat for my dad for Father’s Day and of course, I had to try it for myself. You lay on it (obviously) and it helps you relax by massaging pressure points that help release tight muscles and relieve stress. Life changing.
CBD Gummies
Up the chill factor with some CBD gummies from NotPot. Basically a necessity for any self care gift basket.
Wellness Workbook
This Feel Your Best Wellness Workbook for Personal Growth by Ban.do is not only adorable, but extremely useful. I bought this over the summer and it has lots of goal setting worksheets, daily/weekly check ins, and other helpful tips for personal growth. I highly recommend this to anyone who’s already into self care and looking to uplevel their personal wellness.
Matcha set
Taking the time to make a matcha latte is more than just making a drink – it’s a ritual. Treat your friend/loved one to a matcha set that includes a bamboo whisk and bowl – trust me, their homemade matcha lattes are about to glow up. I started making matcha lattes this way and they taste so much better for real.
Calm Subscription
For $70, you can gift a yearlong calm subscription. Help the wellness lover in your life relax and meditate with this app.
Self Care Gift Basket for Dad
Your dad also deserves a self care basket, so fill his with goodies to help him relax. You can check out the gift guide for dads here and my gift guide for men here.
Noise machine
This noise machine has 16 sounds including white noise. If your dad has trouble sleeping at night, this could all but ensure he has a peaceful night’s rest.
Back massager
You don’t need to go all out on a massage chair – this one can go directly on your dad’s office chair and give him a shiatsu style massage. My dad has this one and I swear he uses it every minute of the day. It’s probably one of his favorite gifts he’s received.
Weighted blanket
If your dad is always “just resting” his eyes, he’ll love a weighted blanket for daily naps. This is an affordable option by the brand Luna. It comes in multiple colorways, so you can get your dad’s fave color or match his bedroom decor.
What would go in your self care gift basket? You should make one for yourself too, you deserve it! 🙂 Looking for more ideas? Click here to check out my post on how I create a relaxing night routine.
