If you’re anything like me, you have good skin days and bad skin days. Some days, my skin is incredible – glowing, dewy, and so bright it almost looks unreal (thanks exfoliating acids!) Then, we have the bad days, where I’m debating if I really need to leave my house or if it can wait another day because no one needs to see me like this. There’s not one specific issue with my skin, but rather that it’s missing something. Maybe I didn’t drink enough water the day before or get enough sleep. It looks dull, tired, and in need of a little something-something. Something only a face mask could do.
Whenever I have those less-than-ideal skin days, I have a very specific formula to ensure that I wake up with better skin the next day. Keep reading to know how I go from dull to glowing overnight.
First, I make sure to completely cleanse off the day – makeup, pollution, etc. I double cleanse, usually first taking off my makeup with a micellar water, then use a cleansing oil or balm to remove the rest of my makeup and sunscreen. I then follow with a water-based cleanser. This will prep your skin for the magic that’s about to happen!
Next – and this is where the good stuff happens – I use Asarai’s Earth Tones Face Mask. This is the secret ingredient to making your skin look incredible the next day. I don’t know what it is about this mask, but if I am having a bad skin day I know this mask is going to fix it. Formulated with:
- Australian Red Clay to “revive and detoxify impurities”
- Kakadu Plum “the most potent plant based form of vitamin C to firm, smooth and brighten”
in addition to a whole slew of other powerhouse ingredients, this mask does what it says it’s going to do.
The only caveat I have with this mask is the stains – it’s a deep rich red color (thanks to the red clay) so if you love your white washcloths do NOT take this mask off with them! I like to rinse off as much as possible with just warm water in the sink and then whatever I can’t get off I will remove with either micellar water or toner on a cotton pad, and that usually does the trick.
Finally, I finish off with a moisturizing oil all over the face. I always love the Pai Rosehip oil for this. I really like to massage it into my skin, and if if I’m really feeling it I’ll do a quick jade roller sesh to really push it into my skin.
There you have it – my 25-minute plan to waking up with instantly better skin the next morning. Do you have any secret tricks for overnight beauty hacks? Let me know in the comments.
